With Janmashtami around ace dancer actor Shobana is all set to launch her new production, “KRISHNA”. ”Krishna “ is a dialogue drama with classical, folk and film dances.
The actress says that its an attempt to convey the moral values declared by Lord Krishna to the people . lesser His role in Mahabharatha is also included. .Besides carnatic music , it also contains songs from tamil, hindi and malayalam movies to make the drama more vibrant and engaging.
The sound mixing is done by Resul Pookutty. Shobana herself has penned the script besides the choreography. During the recent press meet, she expressed her gratitude to other film celebrities who have made a valuable contribution through their voices including Surya, Shabana azmi as Gandhari, Konkana sen as Radha, Nandita Das as Draupathi, Raadhika as Devaki, Prabhu as Bheeman and Milind Soman as Duryodhan.
Besides playing the main role of Krishna , the actress plays the role of Yesodha. This being an English musical, they have also plans to make in tamil and malayalam as well which is expected in a couple of months. Shobana’s dance school named Kalarpana and the crew has worked upon the production for almost a year to deliver this two and half hours musical drama on Janmashtami and hence the actress thanked her sponsors who have been aupportive..
The first show is on Janmashtami day, 22nd August at the Music Academy. .
