The TAPAS Cultural Foundation is conducting a dance festival from January 8-14, 2012 as part of its fifth annual festival at T N Rajarathinam Pillai Muthamizh Peravai Hall, (next to Andhra Mahila Sabha), on Dr Durgabai Deshmukh Salai.
The week-long festival includes performances by leading Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali and Kathak dancers. The inauguration on January 8 will feature Bharathanatyam performance by Deepika Vaidyanathan at 5.30 p.m., followed by A Lakshman at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Deepalakshmi Vijay’s Bharathanatyam will be followed by Prof Sailaja’s Kuchipudi performance.
Wednesday sees group performance by N Aishwarya, R Harini and S Niveditha, followed by the talented dancer Narthaki Nataraj recital.
Kathakali exponents Sadanam Balakrishnan and P T Narendran perform on Thursday.
Bharathanatyam artiste Mahalakshmi Ashwin performs on the last day of the festival.
