The Plastindia Foundation has announced new categories for the 6th edition of the ‘Plasticon Awards’ to be held on February 1, 2012 in New Delhi. The new additions, Awards for Best Entrepreneurship, Best Under-Graduate Student/Best Post-Graduate Student & Best Student in Research Category are to recognise entrepreneurs and give priority to students.
The Plasticon awards have been a symbol of excellence and innovation in plastics and the award function is open to all India-based organisations. Two awards will be presented in each category, a winner’s award and a runner’s-up award. The award entries will be accepted till October 30, 2011 and the awards function will be the curtain-raiser event of Plastindia Exhibition 2012 - the 8th International Plastics Exhibition and Conference.
Dr Prakash Trivedi, chairman, Plasticon Awards Committee, said, “The Plasticon awards are the most prestigious awards for the plastics industries, practising professionals and students. The total number of awards is 26, including a new award for entrepreneurship in the plastics industry and two more awards for students. Thus, the list of awards covers almost the entire field of plastics. The entries will be screened by specially-appointed jury members, who are well-known experts in a variety of fields related to plastics and related industries. The awards are sponsored by industries and institutions which are nearly household names for plastics professionals.”
