When it’s summer – especially when it is blazing hot like now – it is time to stay cool with cotton.
Co-optex, the co-operative textile unit of Tamil Nadu, is cashing in on this preference of the public and has announced some cool collections and at some special prices too.

The cotton collection includes dhothis, churidhar materials, sarees, nightwear, curtains and bedspreads.
Already a popular shop with all sections of people of Tamil Nadu, Co-optex has now splashed a lot of advertisements and hoardings that draw more people to its outlets.

Co-optex gives the best quality, durability and purity of handloom to its valued customers.
The weaver’s whole family is involved in making the cloth and when a purchase is done, the weavers are benefitted, says Priya, saleswoman, Co-optex. The handloom cotton arrives from three districts: Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore.

A survey of one of the outlets reveals that the sarees, dhotis, churidhar and other dresses are predominantly on white combo or only in light colours. How very soothing!
Summer colours like white, pink and mauve are splashed in sarees and other dresses which lure the public. The elegant designs are pleasing and not gaudy.
Young girls trooping into the outlet grabbed churidhars for college wear and bought sarees for party wear.
Many responsible adults picked the thin, colourful cotton bedspreads that give comfort in summer.

A customer felt that the shop fulfils all the needs of a customer – from clothing onwards. And the durability of the material makes any purchase in Co-optex a good buy. But the customer’s only grouse was that there could be some more variety in the products on offer. The customer also had a word of praise for the friendly attitude of the staff.
According to the officials managing one of the Co-optex outlets, the store sells Rs 5-10 lakh worth products a day.
The reasonable prices of churidhars and sarees, ranging from Rs 500-700, and Rs 700 onwards have an added attraction of 25 per cent discount on these varieties.

The Co-optex outlets are located in various vantage points in Chennai: Teynampet, Mylapore, T Nagar, Egmore, Perambur, Parry’s and Koyambedu. All outlets provide the same collections and discount.
