Trinity college awards its alumni

The famed Trinity College of Music, London, which has churned out music wizards, has honoured its alumni, eminent violinist, Dr L Subramanyam, music directors Harris Jayaraj and Mani Sharma and V S Narasimhan and B Ganesh at a function in Chennai recently.

Dr Subramanyam is the son of famous violinist Lakshminarayana who spread music by his mellifluous style. Dr Subramanyam relocated to USA and redefined the art of playing violin. His fusion and jugalbandhi concerts are a big hit.

Harris Jayaraj, Mani Sharma, Narasimhan and Ganesh are eminent in their own stream of music. While Harris and Mani are great music directors, Narasimhan is known for his excellent style of playing both genres of music.

Harris thanked Trinity and his mentor Abdus Sattar for grooming him.

Grammy award-winner Tanvi Shah entertained the audience with her band. Anil Srinivasan, the Chennai-based pianist, joined hands with classical vocalist Sikkil Gurucharan and enthralled the audience.
