Calling music lovers intending to pursue further education in music, Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), from Marg, is inviting applications for its diploma programme in music. The programme commences August 8, 2011 and will end December 16, 2011.
The various modes of instruction for students include private lessons, performance labs, ensembles, ear training, class lectures, etc. To complement these, there would be recitals, jam sessions, concerts and access to the media centre and library.
SAM has a revolving set of top class professional musicians from several countries with expertise in every contemporary genre of music. It functions from a fully air-conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled, 29,000 sq ft LEED Gold certified green building, uniquely shaped like a grand piano.
The faculty for the upcoming programme would be: Juancho Herrera for guitars from Venezuela, Jane Getter for guitars from New York, Dafnis Prieto for drums from Cuba, Ferenc Nemeth for drums from Hungary, Lara Bello for voice from Sofia, Tosello for voice from Argentina, Carmen Staff for piano from New York, Victor Gould for piano from Los Angeles, Derek Nievergelt for bass from New York, Andres Rotmistrovsky for bass from New York and Dr S. Karthik for Indian percussion from India.
Candidates must complete an online application on www.sam.org.in. The total fees for the diploma certificate programme for Indian students would be Rs 3.57 lakh per person and for foreign students, it will be $ 8,000.
