Kadalai paruppu sundal

Ingredients

Kadalai paruppu - 250 gm
Red chillies - 4
Green chillies – 4
Asafoetida powder
Mustard - 1 spoon
Oil - 4 spoons
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Curry leaves
Salt to taste

Method

Wash and soak kadalai paruppu in water for one hour. In a thick bottomed vessel, cook the kadalai paruppu and drain it once it is cooked well.

Pour oil in a pan and heat it. Splutter mustard and add red and green chilies and toss it for some time. Add cooked kadalai paruppu to it with salt and asafoetida powder. Mix the ingredients well with a ladle. Garnish it with grated coconuts and curry leaves.
