Women are pillars of society

It is very intense and sweet when we learn that International Women’s Day has incepted to be celebrated on 8th March every year. Now a days women are considered to be the main pillars of the world . In many developed foreign countries. International Women’s Day is creating dignity and respect for women and this day also helps people to realise the worth of women in the society, in the families as mother, daughter, sister and other relations.

The focus of celebrating International Women’s Day is mainly for the empowerment of the women in the society. A woman plays various role in the society at various times like a role of a mother , a wife , a daughter ,etc and she also multi tasks like cooking, studying, taking care of a baby, etc and also progressing hand in hand with scientific researches, practising medicine or completing Ph.D. Women are coming up in each and every field like sports, education, business, etc. Women have also gained stability and importance in this twenty-first century rather than the previous centuries. In every field of work women are working on par with men. Though they are not treated equal with men at some places but still they are successful in their developments. For example, there are many women scientists who have proved themselves like Kalpana Chawla, Sunitha Williams and there are also women writers.

Earlier sometime, women were considered to be the weaker sex but now they themselves have proved to be the stronger sex with most of them stamping and crushing male chauvinism and domestic violence Today, women are well educated and have proved themselves to be all rounders in tackling their families and office .

A woman named Nalini aged 40 said that she felt proud that a day like women’s day is celebrated in the society, in schools, in colleges.

In most of the schools and colleges, women’s day is with dance and music programmes, thus encouraging the power of women who have achieved in the society .

International women’s day celebration many colleges have also conducted symposiums on Feminism for the empowerment of women. Such kinds of literary activities create awareness among people. Many students in schools and other educational settings participate in special lessons, debates or presentations about the importance of women in society, their influence, and issues that affect them. Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. A global network of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.

Thus, International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
