Firecracker blast at Krishnagiri

Krishnagiri, August 9: A woman and her two daughters were grievously injured when firecracker explosives stored in their house here went off. The three, Rashiya (45), wife of Noorullah (50), and their daughters Pradosh (22) and Saboora (20), were rushed to a private hospital here for treatment.

Police investigations reveal that Noorullah, living in Vanakkara Street in Krishnagiri, has a cracker shop at V. Kotta in Andhra Pradesh. It is said he was in the habit of making the firecrackers at home for sale afterwards.

It is believed that the explosives stored for making the firecrackers in his Krishnagiri house went off this morning, creating a loud blast. The other firecrackers stored in the house also went off, creating panic among the local residents.

The explosives brought down a wall of Noorullah’s house and the windows were also smashed.

Krishnagiri town police are investigating the case.
