Kanchi Seer Case judge transferred

 

 

Chennai, February 6th

Puducherry Sessions Judge Ramaswamy, who was hearing the Sankararaman Murder Case in which both the Kanchi Acharyas were cited as prime accused, was today transferred and posted as Perambalur District Sessions Court Judge.Dindigul District Sessions Court Judge Murugan was posted as Puducherry Sessions Judge in place of Mr Ramaswamy.
  The transfer of Puducherry Sessions Judge comes at a time when the audio CD, containing purported telephonic conversations between him and Senior Kanchi Acharya Jayendra Saraswathi, was being probed/examined by the Judicial Administrative Committee of Madras High Court.
During the alleged conversation, the Acharya had allegedly struck a financial deal with the Puducherry Sessions Judge seeking to acquit him in the case relating to the murder of Kancheepuram Lord Varadharaja Temple Manager Sankararaman in which both the Kanchi Acharyas were cited as the prime accused.
The trial was being conducted by Puducherry Sessions Judge Ramaswamy, when the CD allegedly containing the alleged conversation was made public at a time when most of the witnesses had turned antagonistic.
