SRIRANGAM DECEMBER 18TH

Bhooloka Vaikuntam Srirangam was bursting at the seams on Vaikunta Ekadasi today. Devotees flocked to the temple from Thursday to worship lord Ranganatha reclined on his serpent bed. The festivities, which are a prelude to Vaikunta Ekadasi, are being held for almost a fortnight which reaches a crescendo on Vaikunta Ekadasi.

The Lord, attired as Mohini, a charming lady, blessed the devotees the previous evening.

The Paramapatha vassal opened at 5asm and the Lord in Ratnangi was bewitching. He  passed through Paramapatha vassal followed by the devout.

The spiritual outbursts of the devotees were surcharged with emotion.

The main deity of Ranganatha was attired in pearls called muthangi and devotees stood patiently in a long, labyrinthine queue to have a darshan of lord Ranganatha attired in pearls.
