High alert in coastal Andhra for Phethai

HYDERABAD, DECEMBER 17TH

The Andhra Pradesh Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Research Centre (AWARE), a division of the RTGS, on Sunday said cyclone Phethai might make landfall by the evening of Monday between Kakinada and Tuni.  . The RTGS sounded high alert in East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts which might receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

 

A number of Vishakapatanam-bound trains have been cancelled due to Cyclone Phethai, which is expected to make a landfall around Kakinada on Monday afternoon

Janmabhoomi, Ratnachal and Simhadri Express trains have been cancelled in both directions for the day.
