Mumbai, April 24: Though the whole nation is agog with news that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel could be involved in the Indian Premier League imbroglio, NCP chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar tonight rubbished the charge.
Addressing a party convention in Maharashtra, he said neither his party nor his ministerial colleague was involved in any wrongdoing with regard to the Twenty20 league.
“NCP or Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has nothing to do with the Indian Premier League controversy,” said Pawar.
He said there was no inquiry against Patel though Income-Tax authorities collected some papers from his Delhi office.
Claiming that he was unnecessarily being dragged into the ongoing controversy involving IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi and a whole host of other personalities involved with the cricket league.
