Put in to bat, the West Indies demolished the Indian bowling attack. Chris Gayle missed the distinction of becoming the first cricketer to hit two centuries in international T20 cricket by a whisker – He scored 98 runs off 66 balls and lifted 7 mighty sixes and 5 boundaries in his innings. Gayle was declared the man of the match.
Chanderpaul contributed 23 and helped the Windies reach 69/6 in 20 overs.
Ashish Nehra took 3 wickets for India.
