Tendulkar misses century again

Melbourne, December 27th

India were 214 for 3 at stumps on the 2nd day of the Boxing day test at Melbourne against Australia. India trail Australia by 109 runs , having bowled the host for 333 in the 1st innings. Three half centuries the India 1st innings. Sachin made 73 and once again missed out on his ton of centuries. He fell at 214 to bring in a night watchman after a stnd of 117 runs for the 3rd wicket with Rahul Dravid who remained un beaten on 68.Sewag had earlier made 67 and completed 8,000 runs in test circket.Zaheer Kahn( 4for77) Ashwin 3 for 81 and Umesh Yadav 3for 106 were amongst the wickets in the Australian 1st innings.Debutante opener Ed Cowain and Ponting scored half centuries with 68 and 62 respectively in the Aussue 1st innings. Sidel  41 ,Clarke 31 and Warner 37 also contributed with the bat.Yadav made a telling first appearance in Australia claiming the 1st few wickets . Ponting and Cowain featured in a century stand for the 3rd wicket 113 runs .
