Australia beat India in the inaugural match by 65 runs. The match that was reduced to 32 overs aside due to rain, Australia scoring 216 for 5 and bowled out India for 151 in the 30th over. The Australia side which had a nice blend of experience and youth came good after initial hiccups. They moved from 49 for 3 to 122 for 4 and then also had an unbeaten 62 runs in the sixth wicket partnership. David Hussey scored an unbeaten 61 (of 30 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes) bringing up his seventh ODI to 50. Matthew Wade had paved the way for the Australian supremacy in 69 balls with 67. He had 4 fours and 2 sixes. Mike Hussey scored 45 of 32 deliveries with 4 fours. Vinay Kumar for 3 for 31 was India’s most successful bowler.Indian innings had very little to write home about. Virat Kohli scored 31 (34 deliveries with 3 fours) and Dhoni 29 (30 deliveries with one four). The highest partnership was for the third wicket that produced 51 runs. McKay took 4 for 20 while Starc and Doherty took two wickets each. Matthew Wade was the Man of the Match.
