Clarke’s triple ton puts India in trouble

Resuming at the overnight score of 482 for 4, Australia continued piling of runs at will.  The overnight not out batsman, Clarke and Hussey made a record partnership of 334 runs for the fifth wicket, highest one against India surpassing the earlier record of 288.  Clarke scored an unbeaten 329 runs before declaring the innings when the score was 659 for 4 with a lead of 468 runs.  Clarke scored his eighteenth century while Hussey made his sixteenth ton with an unbeaten 150 runs during their record  partnership. India started disastrously losing Sehwag early when the score was just 18 on the board. Dravid joined Gambhir and were looking solid before Hilfenhaus bowled Dravid through the gate, claiming his second wicket. The second wicket partnership was 82 runs.  At stumps, India were 114 for the loss of 2 wickets with Gambhir (68 n.o.) and Tendulkar (8 n.o.) were at the crease. India is facing an uphill task, trailing by 354 runs with 8 wickets remaining
