India won the toss and put Australia into bat in the first T 20 International played at Sydney, Australia. Australia scored 171 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. David Warner scored 25 of 14 balls (one four and 2 sixes) before he was consumed by Vinay Kumar when the score board was 38. Wicket keeper, MS Wade scored 72 of 43 balls (5 fours and 3 sixes) set the momentum for Australia to reach 171. David Hussey scored a quick fire 42 in 30 balls (one four and 3 sixes).India started disastrously losing Sehwag in the very first over when the score was six on the board. Wickets started falling at regular intervals before the 59 run partnership between Dhoni and Ashwin for the seventh wicket. India could score only 140 in the allotted 20 overs by losing six wickets. Christian and David Hussey shared two wickets each. The second and final T20 is scheduled on 3rd February’12.MS Wade was declared the Man of the Match.
